    History: Richard was born into a family of a failing businessman. Both Richard's mother and father believed highly in remaining within your own class, keeping up appearances, and most importantly, keeping your emotions well guarded. These were all instilled in Richard since his youngest years, taking after the stone faced demeanor of his parents. He never had a very loving or nurturing relationship with his parents and kept to himself. Even in school, a well esteemed private school, Richard spent time studying rather than socializing. His school years were relatively quiet, and Richard kept himself grounded, fit and well learned. Everything was set to have Richard in a nice college where he could learn business and take over the family business.

Only that was never going to happen. Turns out the family business was failing and Michael, Richard's father, had caught wind of the many cities in the west that were being rebuilt. He knew power would be in demand and had a plan. Fresh out of high school, Richard was dragged across the country to the western city of Bellmont with the promise he'd be sent off to college as soon as everything was finished with the new company. Except they had used his entire college fund on scrounging up the enough for a few solar panels to start up a new business of energy providing in Bellmont. Richard could either stay with his parents, who were soon enough bullied out of most of their profits by the big league solar panel owners, or make it out on his own. Richard decided to take his chances.

A few years Richard spent on the streets of Bellmont, demanding respect out of the gangs around him and taking charge. He extorted money out of local businesses for protection, growing this operation until he had a nice pile of funds set up. He returned home to his parents, walking into his father's office and demanding his business from him. When his father refused and laughed him off, Richard, well... His father left the room on a gurney. Over time, Richard either bought out or beat down every competitor with even one solar panel to their name until he owned every single one in the city.  He hired the mercs, soldiers abandoned after the war, to guard his panels during the day. Should anyone even dare to mess with one, orders were to shoot. 

With the wealth and power that followed, it only made sense that Richard became one of the leaders of Bellmont.
